Meet our Pastors

Hello, we’re Howie and April, and we’re the lead pastors and planters of Northwest Vineyard Church. We’ve been married since 2004 and have two amazing teenages, and one cat. We love drinking coffee, sitting with friends, eating good food… and of course Jesus.

Over the years, we’ve been involved in various leadership roles. Previously, we’ve been teaching in local West Auckland schools, we both love to teach, and have a heart for being around children, families, and people in general. We’ve also been involved in working with youth as Youth Pastors, as well as other various pastoral roles. In 2011, we discovered the Vineyard Church movement and realised that we had found our family. Over this time, we served on staff at Urban Vineyard as Children and Families pastors, and also in a role as the national Children’s Ministry coordinators for Vineyard, NZ.

Looking back, we can see Gods fingerprints on our lives to prepare us for this exciting adventure. When God began to stir our hearts with a dream to start a church, we felt that he was saying would you take a leap of faith, with me. And so now, we’re journeying along this path to launch Northwest Vineyard, saying YES to his calling.

We believe God’s going to do so much more, so much more within us and through us as we step into the new, follow His leading, and make a home to pursue Him and live out our love for the world, together.
